Kenya Trip

December 23rd Update

The rest of the group from GWUC have now safely arrived in Kenya and joined Nikki Mann and Diane Greenwood who have been in Kenya for the past two weeks. They are having an interesting time serving people through a mission group called Mission in Action. Mission in Action (MIA) is an organisation that supports the children at Nakuru Baby Orphanage. In the short time that the team have been there, they have already helped in many ways including:

• Assisting at a women’s immunisation clinic
• Playing with the children in the orphanage
• Delivering hampers (consisting of flour, sugar, maize, rice, cooking fat, cordial, matches, candles, laundry soap, sweets for the kids, salt and tea) to the families in the area
• Cooking food for the kids in the orphanage
• Painting tables for the school attached to the orphanage
• Delivering mattresses to families who sleep on the floor of their houses
