Congregational meetings.

The congregation has a primary voice in decision making, and several congregational meetings are called each year. These are chaired by the Chair of Church Congregation.

Church Council.

Church Council is responsible for sprititual leadership and administration on behalf of the congregation. It is an elected body of 25, plus the ministerial team, and any life elders who wish to serve on it. A majority of those elected must be elders.

Church Council Committees.

There are various Church Council committees that look after aspects of congregational life, and report to Council. Foremost among these are the four “On The Way Together’ groups, charged with the advancement of the spiritual and missional life of the church. These four groups are:

Elders Council.

All elders (approx. 45) meet as a group bimonthly. They assist the ministers in worship and the sacraments, giving oversight to various aspects of congregational life, such as welcoming and home visiting. All elders are members of Church Council Committees.

Bequests

There are many ways and different times that we can contribute to GWUC. It can be by a weekly, monthly or other regular giving.
But sometimes this can be difficult depending on our own personal financial situation. Also, in these dynamic times, we may be uncertain how to best provide for ourselves, but to share our resources. Providing for a bequest in your will is another way to assist your local congregation for many years.
